Group Reservations
Group dining & large party reservations
Most groups do not want the whole pub. A long table for fourteen, a corner for thirty, a room with a door for fifty. No room fee and no minimum spend on a semi-private table, which is not how most of this neighbourhood works.
Send us the date
Date and headcount are enough. We come back the same day.

How big is your group?
A group booking is not the same as a private event
Almost every group that books us is not after a private room, and should not be sold one. Find your headcount and the right booking is the one next to it.
2 to 10
Book it yourself
Anything up to ten is a normal reservation. Pick your time on Resy and you are done, no phone call and nobody to wait on.
10 to 40
A semi-private table
The most common group booking we take, and the one people are most surprised by: no room fee and no minimum spend. You get a defined part of the room held for your name, with the pub carrying on around you. Birthdays, team dinners, leaving drinks, a client lunch that ran long.
40 to 100
A room of your own
At this size you take one of the three spaces rather than a corner of one. The Dark Side seats 60, the Light Side holds 100 standing, and the Patio adds 40 more when the fog has burned off.
100 to 200
The whole building
Past a hundred you are into a buyout, which is a different conversation with a different set of numbers. That is what the private events page is for.
Plain English
What a semi-private table actually is
It is not a separate room
You are in the pub, in a part of it that is yours for the night. People who want a private room with a door shut behind them want the Dark Side, and that is a different booking.
No room fee, no minimum spend
You pay for what your group eats and drinks. Most rooms in the Financial District will quote you a minimum before they will quote you a table, and at this size that is the difference between a dinner happening and not happening.
The menu is the menu
The full food and drink menus run for groups. You can pre-order to speed service up, or let everyone order on the night. Both work.
One tab or many
Split it, put it all on one card, cap the bar at a number and switch to cash after. Tell us at the start rather than at the end and it is simple either way.
However you want to run it
The night bends around your group
The menu is a starting point
Off-menu dishes, a family-style build, passed bites instead of a buffet, a whole course dropped because half your team is flying in late. If the kitchen can make it, we will look at it.
The timings bend
Early start for a breakfast briefing, a 4pm handover between two groups, a bar that stays open an hour past the plan because the conversation is still going. Weekends are closed to the public, which makes them ideal for a buyout.
Dietary needs are not a surcharge
Vegan, gluten-free, halal, allergies. Send the list, we will handle it, and nobody at the table will be handed a sad plate of steamed vegetables.
Questions
The short answers
- Do I need a private room to book a group?
- No, and most groups do not. Anything from 10 to about 40 guests books as a semi-private table: a defined area of the pub held under your name, with no room fee and no minimum spend. A private room is a different booking and only makes sense above about 40.
- What is the largest group I can book on Resy?
- 10. Above that, Resy will not take the booking and you need us. Send the date and the headcount and we will come back the same day.
- Is there a minimum spend for a group?
- Not on a semi-private table. You pay for what your group eats and drinks. Minimum spend only comes into it when you are taking a whole room or the whole building, and it moves with the space, the night and the season.
- How far ahead should I book a group?
- A fortnight is comfortable for most sizes. December and conference weeks are the exceptions and go much earlier. If your date is close, call rather than email and we will tell you straight away whether it works.
- Can we pre-order food for a large group?
- Yes, and for anything over about 20 we would recommend it. It turns a long wait into food arriving together. Send us the choices a few days before and the kitchen will set up around them.
- Can we split the bill?
- Yes. One tab, separate tabs, or a capped bar tab with everything after it going on individual cards. Decide at the start of the night rather than at the end and it stays simple.
- Can you handle allergies and dietary requirements for a group?
- Yes, at no extra charge. Mention it when you book so the kitchen can plan, rather than on the night. Vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy requirements are handled as part of normal service.
- Can we watch a game with our group?
- Yes. There are screens through both rooms. If there is a specific match you want on for your table, say so when you book and we will make sure it is up.

Tell us the date and the headcount
That is genuinely all we need to tell you what is open, what it costs and which part of the room is yours.
